minchantober: a month of minchan

a prompt challenge: october 2026

what is it?

minchantober is a long-standing fandom tradition to celebrate both bang chan and lee minho (lee know) as both their birthdays are in october.while there are many ways to celebrate, this particular event is a "prompt challenge": every day has at least one prompt meant to encourage the creation of new fandom works that celebrate minchan.there are no sign ups, check ins, or submission forms.this is a ship focused event.

how does it work?

  • pick a prompt!

  • create a minchan-focused work. the relationship can be romantic, platonic, poly, etc, but the focus must be on minchan. works that do not focus on them will not be accepted.

  • post your work on twitter starting october 1 and tag @monthofminchan, or use the #minchantober2026 hashtag. we will RT your post.

  • if you don't have a twitter that's okay! you can still submit to ao3. you can also post to bluesky and use the #minchantober2026 hashtag.

  • while we do prefer works be posted on the day of the appropriate prompt, you are welcome to post works for prompt days that have passed.

  • post to the ao3 collection (minchantober2026).

what works can i submit?

any and all new fandom creations: fic, art, podfics, translations, video or photo edits, etc. however if you are using other people's work as a starting point (to translate, podfic, or to use in an edit), please get permission from the original creator first. anyone found to be using other people's creative or intellectual property without their permission will be blocked from the event account and banned from future participation.works do not need to be of a certain length or complete prior to submission.please tag all works appropriately, no matter where you are posting. if you do not, mods may choose not share your posts to the twitter page or accept submissions to the ao3 collection.you can continue to submit works to the ao3 account even after october has finished.as long as the other event approves, you can cross-post minchantober works.
